Location: Capitol Reef National Park, near the town of Torrey in south-central Utah.
Distance & difficulty: About 1.8 miles round trip (2.9 km); easy to moderate, family-friendly.
Trailhead & route: Begins at the Hickman Bridge Trailhead off Utah State Route 24; follows a sandy/packed dirt path with some rocky steps and short switchbacks.
Highlight: Natural sandstone arch (Hickman Bridge) spanning roughly 133 feet; dramatic canyon and slickrock views.
Elevation & time: Modest elevation change (around 300 feet); typical hike time 45–90 minutes round trip depending on pace and stops.
Best time to visit: Spring and fall for milder temperatures; early morning or late afternoon for softer light and fewer crowds. Summer can be very hot; winter may have icy sections.
