Formed at the juncture of the Taylor and East Rivers at Almont, The Gunnison River is widely regarded as one of the best fly fishing rivers in the state of Colorado. The Gunnison is primarily known for its vibrant population of wild Rainbow and Brown trout along with a seasonal run of Kokanee Salmon. It is also a major tributary of the Colorado river where it flows in near Grand Junction, CO.
